Neil Wheeler married his wife Sharril Spicer in the "Little Brown
Church" in Nashua, IA.
Neil started working as a carpenter, alongside his father Lyle, and his bothers, in and around Concord, Minnesota, at age 15 (1952), and retired in 2002.
Neil is a graduate of West Concord High School (1955).
Sharril is a graduate of Kasson-Mantorville High School (1957), Winona State University - Bachelor of Science Elementary Education (1973) & Master of Education Learning Disabled Children (1976), and University of Minnesota - Master of Education Emotional and Behaviorally Handicapped Children (1978).
Sharril taught Special Education in Brownsdale, Minnesota (1973-1975), and in Pine Island, Minnesota (1975-2002).
Neil and Sharril were Foster Parents for 27 years (1978 - 2005), taking in over 100 kids from Dodge County, with the six listed above spending significant time living in the Wheeler home.
Neil is buried in the
Concord Cemetery in Concord, Minnesota.
